Exhibition THERE ONCE WAS A WORLD
On March 1, 2010 the Foundation Respect and Tolerance opened the exhibition in the Tree of Knowledge Gallery in Rymarov. The new updated exhibition is documenting personalities from former Jewish communities in Loštice, Mohelnice and Úsov. Many photographs and information discovered in recent years were added to the exhibition and arranged in a new attractive graphic design. Footnotes, explanations, sources of information and lists of literature for further study and research were added to each panel. Exhibition is a part of the latest Respect and Tolerance program titled Banned Stories. The title suggests Jewish stories were prohibited by the Nazis in the country from 1939 to 1945 and than not wanted by the Communists until 1989. That is the reason why many important figures and heroes of Jewish origin remain partially or entirely forgotten until now. The goal of the new program is to change it.
Exhibition consists of twenty larger panels. They are framed in wooden frames and glazed with plexi glass, therefore transportation and installation of this travel exhibition is quite easy. The entire exhibition was also printed in PDF format on DVD disc, which is available to schools and libraries free of charge.
