Theatre performance CHAHA in the Lostice synagogue
On Friday June 13 children’s choir Vetrnik from Lostice and members of the Bouzov high school theatre group performed in the Lostice synagogue. The concert of Jewish songs and psalms was followed by theatre play Chana. The story begins with Hillary, a teenager who hates everything but is sympathetic to neo-Nazis. She is involved in a car accident and must go to hospital. There she meets a Jewish lady Chana, who grew up during the Nazi era and survived the Holocaust. Chana talk about her life and about her family members who perished in concentration camps. Her dramatic story is the school of life for Hillary and for the audience as well.
Beautiful concert and excellent performance of young actors touched all people who came to the Lostice synagogue on Friday afternoon. The program was organized by the students in cooperation with the Foundation Respect and Tolerance and Town of Lostice. Foundation hired a professional to record the entire program on DVD. It will be available to other students and teachers as an example and inspiration.
